She made her debut around 1890. In 1901 she made successful guest appearances at the Tivoli Theater in San Francisco. Sang opposite tenors Oreste Mieli, Francesco Fazzini, Amedeo Alemanni. She never made records.

Vladimir Karavya (Tenor) (Odessa, Ukraine 12. 01. 1886 - Cannes, France 14. 08. 1969)

He was born into a family of Greek descent.  Karavya went to St. Petersburg in the 1920’s and quickly become a famous for his interpretation of mostly dramaptic repertoire, especially for his Canio, where he demonstrated his dramatic actor talent and big power of his voice, he sang with success at the Theatre of Music Drama in Petersburg. Around 1926 Karavya immigrated to Paris, where appeared at different Russian opera houses. He was a soloist of Agrenev-Slavyansky’s Opera House (1928-1930), then he joined to the Chamber Opera of A. Dolinov (1931/1932 season). Since 1936 he taught singing at the Conservatory Russian De Paris.

Bruno Makhin (Tenor) (Vilnius, Lithuania ? - ?)




Makhin made his debut as Bayan in ‘’Ruslan and Ludmila’’ at the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg (1898). From 1898 to 1900 he was a soloist of Solodovnikov’s Theater. Here he made his debut as Lensky in ‘’Eugene Onegin’’. Since 1902 Makhin appeared in Odessa, Kiev (1903, 1906, 1908), Kharkov (1910), Tiflis (1907-1908) and Vilnius (1909, 1910). His special success was at provincial operatic stages. His repertoire included Werther, Don Jose in ‘’Carmen’’, Lensky in ‘’Eugene Onegin’’, Faust, Alfredo in ‘’Traviata’’, Dubrovsky.

Giovanni Peirani (Tenor) (Rivoli/Torino 1868 - Santiago del Cile 1901)




Originally he was a sculptor. He studied singing with maestro Thermignon in Turin and with E. Barbacini in Milan. In 1895 he made his debut (without special success) at the Teatro Sociale of Colorno as Manrico in G. Verdi’s ‘’Trovatore’’. In 1898 he appeared with great success at the Teatro San Carlo in Napoli as Arrigo in ‘’I Vespri Siciliani’’ and as Radames in ‘’Aida’’. The criticism compared his voice with Francesco Tamagno’s voice. In 1899 he sang at the Teatro Storchi in Modena the part of Alvaro in ‘’La Forza del Destino’’ and also appeared in the premiere of ‘’Irnerio’’ by E. M. Poggi. One of his star roles was Otello (G. Verdi), role, which he sang with great success in Italy, Spain, Portugal and South America. In 1899 he made guest appearances at the Teatro Lirico in Rio de Janeiro in ‘’Samson et Dalila’’, ‘’Carmen’’, ‘’Il Guarany’’ and ‘’Aida’’. His young wife died in Parà of a fever epidemic. He was engaged again for appearances in South America. During a tour he fallen ill in Santiago de Chile with yellow fever and died at the of 33. He never made records.
